Cry

Crying is a gift.

Let it happen.

Lose the fight with the moment.

Right when some inexplicable wave rises inside, and your throat tightens, give it your attention.

It’s Life.

Your emotions are how you touch it. How you make contact. It’s what we’re here for. Why we were born. To feel.

The tears are the keys to unlock your spirit. And touch, the earth. They break through the stress that you are holding so tightly, for dear life.

But dear life is beckoning you to let go. To lean in. To embrace the drowning in sorrow, shame, stress, loneliness, or even joy, and let it show you that you can become like a fish. You can breathe in the water.

Drink it up, the life. It’s the best thing you’ll ever taste. It’s love.

If someone is watching, give them the gift too.

Don’t hide your face.

Try letting them see you this time.

When you touch life, let them feel it. They want to join. Life is theirs too.

It is so big though, they shy away. Avert their eyes. “Don’t cry…”.

But if they choose to lose the fight with the moment, they will touch what you are touching. Their eyes will fill with tears, the barriers will crack and break open, and life will come rushing in.

We don’t have to understand it.

Feeling it, is enough.

Something new is being born.

Something you have never known.

And when the tears stop, colors are a bit brighter. Nothing has been fixed, it has only been opened. The body feels looser. More intimate. More peaceful.

A new safety.

A better world.

Something more.

What we came for.
